About 6 weeks ago though we changed all AD DNS zones to use secure dynamic update only. Initially there didn't appear to be a problem. But gradually I started to notice more and more DNS related issues, all of them revolving around the fact that systems, primarily workstations, were not updating their DNS records when their IP's were changing. SUre enough, when looking at the ACL's of those records they were missing the ACL to allow either the computer account (SELF) or the service account used by all DHCP servers in the company to update the DNS record.
It isn't all records that are missing the ACL, but it is the mojority, thousands or records, that are exhibiting this issue.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
