CP is a measure of both the quantity and quality of practice of a given unit. The 80% requirement is made based on the study of millions of students' previous study data, and it represents the minimum amount of practice that it takes to master the language patterns of that unit. So, we don't want to encourage students to rush through the program.

The only way to raise CP faster is by studying in the right ways. For example, over use of TEXT support will directly cause CP to stop growing.
The CP growing rate is also proportional to the students' shuffler levels. The higher the shuffler level is, the faster the CP grows. (Low shuffler levels usually indicates poor comprehension ability and therefore requires more practice. The slow growing of CP in this case will guarantee the extra amount of practice the student needs. )

That said, students need to understand that there is no shortcut when it comes to language skills development. Developing a skill takes repetitive practice over an extended period of time. There is no other way out.
